We amplify your recruitment efforts by complementing your process.

World-class scholars and researchers are in high demand. Canadian universities face competition from both international institutions and private sector organizations in the pursuit of top academic talent.

A competitive environment, combined with the need for faculty cohorts to better reflect the diversity of the population, makes the recruitment of Research Chairs increasingly complex. Search committees are struggling to identify and engage diverse and sought-after candidates.

We understand the unique challenges search committees face and we offer a tailored approach that complements an institution led search process, offering support where you need it most – in the sourcing of exceptional candidates.

Partnering in your process.

As your partner, we work alongside your internal experts and search committee to amplify your recruitment efforts. There are three key components in our streamlined approach:

Consultation – Through conversations with your key stakeholders, we develop a thorough understanding of your institution, your department, the local context, the role mandate, and the ideal candidate profile. Working with your internal experts, we create a compelling information package for high-potential candidates.

Identification and Recruitment – Our team of researchers and recruiters actively seek out candidates from around the globe, leveraging the international networks of our partners at Lee Hecht Harrison Knightsbridge and their affiliates at Amrop Knightsbridge. We will engage candidates in conversation about your opportunity and explore key decision-making factors such as the transfer of research programs, terms of appointment, and relocation.

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Support –  We employ proven approaches to identify and recruit candidates from under-represented groups in keeping with your institutional values, and we will align our process with your equity guidelines, policies, or priorities. We bring expertise in the EDI best practices for recruitment set out by the Canada Research Chairs (CRC) Program and our team has undertaken the Unconscious Bias Training Module developed by NSERC, SSHRC, and the CIHR. We also offer search committees customized unconscious bias training.

Engaging diverse candidates from around the world.

What our clients are saying:

Working with KBRS on a recent search for an endowed chair made all the difference to me as chair of the search committee. The process was efficient and smooth, potential candidates were well looked after, and the committee was presented with a strong list of candidates in a timely manner. I would highly recommend KBRS for your next academic search.
