Shauna’s professional approach to recruitment, combined with her determination to surpass clients’ expectations, drive her success in attracting top talent for well-aligned opportunities. In addition to recruiting in the public sector, Shauna provides leadership to KBRS’s team through onboarding, training, coaching, and management of it’s executive search team members.
Shauna has enjoyed multiple opportunities to share her recruitment expertise at public presentations, including most recently, as an invited speaker on Saint Mary’s University’s Recruitment and Selection Panel, at Enactus and Fusion’s Syrian Newcomer Conference at Dalhousie University and on Saint Mary’s University’s Working in Canada International Alumni Panel.
Passionate about working with the community, Shauna is an actively engaged member on Fusion’s Board of Directors. As Fusion’s Director of Strategy, Shauna provides sound strategic advice to ensure the non-profit meets it’s objectives of connecting, engaging and inspiring the young demographic of Halifax to think forward and take charge of our city’s future. Shauna also held the position of Director of People Factor, and lead action team of engaged volunteers to help young professionals in Halifax build connections, skills, and careers. Shauna’s team led the 6th Cycle of Fusion’s Mentorship Program, which has matched over 150 young professionals with industry leaders since its inception and also hosted a variety of Professional Development workshops in the city. Shauna is also an active volunteer with Halifax Partnership’s Connector Program, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Out of the Cold emergency shelter.
Shauna holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Psychology (Industrial Organizational Psychology) from Saint Mary’s University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. While at Saint Mary’s University, Shauna received a variety of prominent awards, including the NSHRF Master Level Scholar Award and SSHRC Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship.
Before joining KBRS, Shauna worked in a variety of roles, including as an HR Consultant with Higher Talent Inc., Graduate Teaching Assistant at Saint Mary’s University, Research Technician with Calian, and as a Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness/Health and Safety Intern with Nalcor Energy.
Passionate about exploring her community, Shauna enjoys being a tourist in her own home, listening to live music, hiking and outdoor adventures, and frequent travels to her hometown, St. John’s NL, to visit friends and family.
