If you embody this culture, Tacora is currently seeking an experienced senior leader to join their high-performance team as General Manager.  Creativity, adaptability and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships within all levels of the organization and community is the key to your success!


As the General Manager, you are responsible for providing dynamic leadership, direction and personal accountability for a team of approximately 260 individuals at full production. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you are responsible for the safe production ramp-up of the Scully Mine and ensuring that systems and process management procedures are developed, implemented and standardized to secure the current and long-term success of the facility. You are passionate in your strategic thought and execution processes to ensure that production quantity and quality are within plan and costs are managed such that increased company value is the result. You will monitor key performance indicators on a continuous basis to improve process efficiency, product quality and cost effectiveness and will enthusiastically build buy-in for these initiatives throughout the organization. This is concurrently achieved with superior health, safety and environmental management and compliance to the company’s vision, mission and values.


As the ideal candidate, you are a strong and proven leader with the demonstrated ability to translate vision into actions. You passionately believe that strong relationships, built on trust, mutual respect and communication are key to success. You have the capacity to analyze and solve interpersonal and technical problems with a reputation for possessing superior communication skills, strong business acumen, and technical proficiency. You likely hold a technical degree in engineering or geology complemented with 10 or more years’ operations management, with significant involvement in a senior leadership capacity. You have experience in leading processing and mining facilities and have the creativity, drive and ability to develop and implement processes and strong cost controls. You thrive working within high performance work environments and are excited to lead and revitalize this flourishing mining community. You can build strong, trusting relationships with all levels of the organization and community. You lead, manage and adapt to frequent changes, identify inefficiencies and ensure operations are consistently cost effective, while keeping safety top-of-mind.
