The Odette School of Business, which is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), offers career-relevant business programs, via the following degree options: B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration) Co-operative Education, B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration), B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration and Computer Science) Co-operative Education, B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration and Economics), B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration and Computer Science), including an active co-op program. It also offers a full-time MBA, Fast-Track MBA (with Professional Accounting Specialization accredited by CPA Ontario for delivery of the PREP and PEP equivalent courses required to write the CPA CFE), an integrated MBA/LLB and MBA/JD, a Master’s of Management, a Master’s of Engineering Management shared with the Faculty of Engineering and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Accounting. Organized into six area groups - Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management Science, Management and Labour Studies, and Strategy and Entrepreneurship, the Odette School aims to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to improve business practice and leadership, and upholds a commitment to creating research with impact.
Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President Academic, the Dean of the Odette School of Business is responsible for the overall management of the Odette School, providing strategic and effective leadership for students, faculty, the University and the professional community. The Dean will begin during an exciting period of growth: Odette has recently expanded and updated its facilities and programs, and is undergoing faculty renewal while developing research-based graduate degrees. The Dean will be expected to lead the Odette School in articulating and effectively executing a focused strategic vision within the context of the change occurring throughout the University of Windsor and in the post-secondary education sector. The Dean will also contribute to the further development of the Faculty’s research, teaching, and academic programs while promoting innovation, teamwork, and collaboration across and within departments. By seeking out new opportunities to engage with industry and community partners and fostering a synergistic relationship between the Faculty, its students, alumni and other stakeholders, the Dean will play a central role in supporting the School and the University’s commitment to excellence.
As the ideal candidate, you bring a distinguished academic reputation and/or an impressive track record in business/industry, a record of excellence in research and teaching, and the ability to motivate and support other faculty members in their own pursuit of these endeavors. A deliberate decision maker with a passion for innovation, your collaborative strategic planning experience will facilitate your success as the new Dean, Odette School of Business. You are a hands-on, committed and collaborative leader with experience in academic administration, and your excellent fiscal and risk management skills ensure effective and efficient resource allocation. A natural and strong developer of internal talent, you are capable of building, leading, and empowering high-performing and collaborative teams and working co- operatively with students, faculty and staff. Forward-thinking with a strategic mindset, you are optimistic and passionate about the future of business education, and will lead students, faculty and staff in the School with focus and inspiration.
