Mount Allison seeks its 17th President and Vice-Chancellor.
Consistently recognized as one of Canada’s leading undergraduate universities, Mount Allison University offers degrees in Arts, Commerce, Science, Fine Arts, and Music. Our approach to teaching and research is immersive and student-focused. Mount Allison supports a diversity of research, creative, and professional activities within its Faculties, which results in a unique context for teaching, research, collaboration and partnerships across disciplines.
Mount Allison prides itself on its financial health and stability achieved through responsible stewardship of its $46 million annual operating budget and, at $170 million, one of the country’s most significant University endowment funds on a per student basis. Mount Allison’s campus has undergone significant renewal over the past three years, including the construction of the Purdy Crawford Centre for the Arts, one of the premier facilities of its kind among Canadian universities, and a world class research facility for environmental science, set to open in 2018.
Reporting to the Board of Regents, the President and Vice-Chancellor is the academic and administrative leader of the University responsible for managing, motivating and supporting faculty, administration, staff and students within a collegial environment. The President and Vice-Chancellor will actively engage with the full Mount Allison community including students, faculty, staff, alumni and external stakeholders in executing a common vision and integrated plan that embraces Mount Allison’s history and continues to differentiate Mount Allison’s academic programming, research profile, and student experience to ensure an extraordinary undergraduate education. The President and Vice-Chancellor will ensure the University’s sustainability by championing strategic enrolment management initiatives, engaging alumni and friends of the University and playing a role in influencing post-secondary and research funding policy locally, provincially, nationally and internationally.

You understand and value the essential role that faculty play in implementing most aspects of the University’s mission. You are able to think holistically and develop strategic opportunities and demonstrate an excitement for innovation and creativity in teaching, learning and research.
